Welcome to Wheat’s Art!  I am Helen Wheatley and Wheat’s Art is a potpourri of my exploration of watercolor, mixed media collage, Ikebana and pretty much anything else that interests me artistically.   I am a firm believer that you can make a short attention span work for you and you’ll see how I’ve done just that through my dabbling in various styles, mediums, subject matter, etc.

***Wow!***  It’s been over a year since I started this blog.  Hard to believe.  Some things have changed and some haven’t.   I’m still into art, but am working mainly in acrylics now.  I still have my gallery, but it moved to The Avenue, Viera.  (Big step up)  I still do my Ikebana, but my sensei has retired and I no longer attend classes.  My hair is short, after having 20 inches cut and donating it to Locks of Love, but you can’t really see how short in the photo!

I hope to get to the point where I post on a regular basis, but it always seems like there’s nothing going on or all h__l is breaking loose.  My shifts at the gallery are constantly changing and it’s hard to do anything regularly.

My watercolor classes at the Cocoa Beach Library start soon (second Thursday of October 10 am – 1 pm) and I haven’t even begun to prepare my lessons, although I do have an intriguing idea.  I’m not sure how the class will go since they changed the day and time on me after all these years.

I’m on LinkedIn now, and Downtown Arts District, and was accepted to the Abstract Artist Gallery!  And I finally put together my artist page on Facebook.  (Helen Wheatley – Artist)

So, hopefully, I’ll be sharing on a more regular basis.  I know some of my friends out there actually want to know what I’m up to.
