I do make a few decisions before I begin my paintings.  I first choose the composition I wish to work with (how the painting will be laid out on the page) then I select my colors.  The color selection is very important to me and I make swatches of the colors I’m considering so I can see how they work together.  I play with them at full strength and diluted and I mix and mingle them to see what the combinations will look like.  Here are two paintings I did using only watercolors.

Watercolor
Faces at the Oasis
Watercolor
Birds of a Feather

Geometric shapes and animals often show up in my paintings.  I like mixing natural elements with structural ones.
