I don’t really like having to make decisions, so the process I follow makes a lot of them for me. Of course that does mean I have to be flexible enough and creative enough to figure out what to do once they’ve been made for me. In the painting “..and promises made” I saw flowers right away, but in “Worlds Apart” I had to figure out where to go from the initial application. These are two of my favorite paintings, and they both hang in my home.
“Worlds Apart” is a watercolor painting while “..and promises made” is a mixed media. This is another example of using the texture material (in this case, rice paper) to collage with later on. These paintings are truly unique as I can never come close to making one similar. What happens, happens… and that is what I find so exciting.
