Altered Book – Update

I just finished my altered book project, pretty much just in time, and I think it turned out great!  I recycled some artwork from an old project, pulled out some beautifully colored old picture pages to save for a future project and cut the rest of the pages down.  I designed a new cover, colored it in watercolor pencil and titled my new book, “In the Octopus’s Garden”.  I hope you will consider joining me at the exhibition preview on Tuesday, March 6th at the Satellite Beach Library from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.  The library is located at 751 Jamaica Blvd.

For further information, call Paula Steere (321) 917-3236.   The exhibit will be on display at the library from March 7th through March 31st during regular library hours.

Altered Book Project

I’m participating in an altered book project for the first time.  My plan is to recycle some artwork from a previous project and use it to create my book.  I also took pages I liked from the book and put them away to use in a future piece.  I spent the weekend at an art show where I was able to create the cover for my book.  It should be finished soon and displayed in the “Renew” exhibition at the Satellite Beach Library.

Classes starting

Red pail

Beginner to intermediate watercolor classes start at the Cocoa Beach Library tomorrow, Thursday, Oct.13th at 10 am.  In addition to our usual 1/4 sheet paintings, I’m going to have students create 4″x6″ mini paintings.  The mini paintings will fill the drying time involved in the larger paintings.  They will be simple and give the students the opportunity to try various techniques on a smaller scale.  There are still a few spaces left.

Bamboo Moon

Be sure to stop by Art Gallery of Viera this Saturday night, August 13th, from 6-9 pm. for an island experience at our Tropical Daze art show’s opening reception.
My paintings, Bamboo Moon, seen at left, Bamboo, Man Over Board, and a framed (#1)  giclee print of Beach Baby are included among artwork by Art Gallery of Viera artists, as well as several guest artists.  There will be live steel drum music, live tropical birds, refreshments and more!  Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy art that suits our Florida lifestyle.  Mediums from acrylic to watercolor and silk to jewelry will be available for purchase.  Meet the artists who create this lovely work and learn more about the talents that surround you here in Brevard County.
