Lion Eyes

Lion Eyes

Wow, that was intense.  I finally reached my goal of 16 new paintings for my Artist of the Month exhibit at Art Gallery of Viera.

These new paintings will be on display beginning the evening of April 30th during the opening reception for the “Mom Would Love That” art show, through the month of May.

I’ve discovered lots of new techniques while working on them and I think the variety of colors, textures, and patterns will really engage the viewer.  The paintings are lively and bright and the paint seems to dance on the surface, sometimes intermingling and sometimes layered or overlapping.  Every stroke, scrape and splatter works together to create a unique, one of a kind, freestyle image.

Creativity Unleashed

The final push is on.  This is the last day to paint before I have to take my work to the framer.  Cheri of American Moulding has been my friend and framer for quite a while but we have been getting together even more to make sure I have my 16 new pieces framed and ready by the 30th.    Actually, they have to be picked up on the 29th, because they are to be hung on the 30th.   I have paint everywhere!  Creativity is messy, but I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t paint.

I am still busy creating pieces for my exhibit as Artist of the Month at Art Gallery of Viera.  My goal is to have 16 new pieces.

Symbolism

Symbolism, one of my new pieces. On display at Art Gallery of Viera beginning April 30th

The opening reception for the gallery’s “Mom Would Love That” show will be Saturday, April 30th 6-9 pm.  There will be a raffle for art baskets to benefit Sally’s Friends (a long term shelter for women & children)  All proceeds from the raffle will go to Sally’s Friends.    Artists are donating items for the baskets and tickets are $1 or 6 for $5.  The gallery will also be accepting donations of new toys, laundry detergent, paper products & diapers for the shelter.  Music will be provided by Charlie Shrum.
